One of my childhood heroes was my
uncle. My mother’s
older brother was James Claude Donoho Jr. but he was “Bubba” to
seemingly everybody in Memphis who knew him back in the 40’s and
50’s. Bubba was a
smart, very smooth, super cool, “life of the party” dude and a
complete ladies’ man.
He was strikingly handsome and if Clark Gable had a black
twin brother with the same good looks it would have been Bubba…Dark
Gable.
But Bubba was more widely known for his dancing.
He was a helluva “hoofer” and won many dance contests.
Jitterbug, Fox Trot, Cha Cha, the Hucklebuck or whatever,
Bubba easily and expertly, executed them all with a style and
swagger like noboby else.
Totally an “A-lister,” he and his dance partner were
invited to all the best parties and dances because they
attracted cool people that made parties better.
It’s a true story and here’s the point.
Bubba could never show his stuff on the dance floor
unless he was invited to the dance.
Although we at Spotset Radio Network are smart,
good-looking and cut some mean moves, we’re not always invited
to the dance.
Invitations (radio avail requests) are going out all the time to
rep and network “dancers” but not coming our way.
Some well intentioned folks are waiting on something
that’s “just right” for us.
Believe me, it doesn’t have to be the prom…we just want a
chance to dance.
Yes, we think we can dance and we think Spotset deserves an
opportunity to dance with the stars.
It’s in our DNA.
So, INVITE US!
Please.
